Media production for sailing and race environments — for teams, events, sponsors and brands.

What I do

I’m Eike Schurr, a media producer from Bremen, Germany. Since founding blondsign in 2013, I have focused on sports and environments that are hard to capture — above all sailing.

I work as a drone operator for live broadcasts, as an onboard reporter and as an embedded media partner for professional race teams — on the water, on board and in tight production setups where reliability matters as much as the right angle.

My roots are in sailing and water sports. Beyond the race course, I work with sponsors who want to activate their partnerships and reach audiences through sport — and with companies on corporate, brand and event productions.

Why sailing needs media

Without a broadcast, spectators on shore see almost nothing of a race.

Sailing is one of the most difficult sports to bring to an audience. Races take place far from shore, across large distances and in constantly changing conditions.

Aerial images make distances, positions and tactics visible; onboard footage brings the audience close to the crews.

Making that visible — reliably, live and under real race conditions — is what my work is about. For teams and sponsors, that visibility is what turns a race into reach.
