Go 4 Speed Kiel 2022

During the sunny season kickoff of Go 4 Speed off Kiel, 16 German keelboat sailing teams came together to showcase their skills in Strander Bay. The practical training was organized jointly by North Sails Germany and the German Sailing Federation (DSV). Eike Schurr was on site as a drone pilot to analyze the teams from the air during the training.

This weekend, the focus was on starts, maneuvers, and boat handling as the crews shook off their winter rust. The trainers, including Stefan Matschuck (Managing Director of North Sails) and Bertil Balser (Chairman of RVS, North Sails), helped the teams optimize their performance and prepared them for the upcoming sailing season.

Eike Schurr’s drone images provided the Go 4 Speed participants with interesting perspectives on their own achievements and allowed for a detailed analysis of their maneuvers. These valuable insights helped the sailors progress throughout the weekend and improve their skills.

In addition, DSV and RVS launched the “Be Part of the Crew” campaign, giving young sailors the opportunity to participate in a sailing weekend on an offshore yacht and secure a permanent spot in a crew. The campaign is aimed at sailors aged 16 to 27 and offers them the chance to get to know regatta sailing on a larger ORC boat.
