SSL Gold Cup 2022

The SSL Gold Cup is an international sailing event aimed at crowning the best sailing nation in the world. The top 56 countries in the world are selected based on their SSL Nation Ranking to compete in a series of qualifying races.

As a drone pilot for Chimbovision GmbH & Co KG, I had the opportunity to document the event from a bird’s-eye view and broadcast the races live. The sailing races were marked by technical precision, and the teams fought hard for every meter on the water.

Unfortunately, the final event in Bahrain was canceled at short notice due to logistics problems. Despite the disappointment among the teams and spectators involved, the SSL Gold Cup remains an important event in the sailing calendar and showcases the best of the best in the sailing world. I look forward to seeing the next edition of the SSL Gold Cup, where the top sailing nations will once again compete for the coveted Sail World Cup trophy.
